You'll see our Mules a comin' over mountains head to tail.
Their longears a floppin' in the breeze, their bray's a lonesome sound.
You'll never find a better friend when you're coverin' rough ground.
George Washington was a smart man when he met the King of Spain.
There's one thing that he wanted and he made it very plain.
He needed a clever Jack to get a fancy Mule
The King of Spain agreed to that. That's how we got out Mule.
Some say a Mule is stubborn. Some say a Mule's a fool.
Well the man who said all of those things he never owned a Mule.
A man once said you've got to be smarter than a Mule.
Cuz he'll out wit you every time and you'll wonder who's the fool.
I get up in the morning and up the trail I start.
I never worry where I'm going, my Mule is to darn smart.
To go where there is trouble, I'm as safe as I can be.
That Mule don't want to hurt herself anymore than she does me.
